Thoughts 💭

Thoughts

Last week we discussed actions to support your growth, things that we could do to nurture our development (45 ideas to be precise). This week I want to complete this with a couple of stats that might make you rethink what you think….

A new study from Queen’s University in Canada suggests the average person has around 6,200 individual thoughts every day (others even say 60,000). Of those thousands of thoughts, the National Science Foundation found that 80% were negative, and 95% were exactly the same repetitive thoughts as the day before. Our mind focuses on the negative and ‘plays the same songs’ over and over again.

So much so that by the time we are 35 years old, we have lost our free will to a program running us. 95% of who we are is a memorised set of behaviours, emotional reactions, unconscious habits, hardwired attitudes, beliefs, and perceptions that function like a computer program. This leaves you with ONLY 5% to consciously decide to be healthy, happy, or wealthy. Scary stuff.

Another study, this time from Cornell University, shows that 85% of what we worry about never happens. And of those, 15% of the worries that do happen, 79% could have easily been handled, or the difficulty taught us a lesson worth learning. The conclusion is that 97% of our worries are baseless and result from an unfounded pessimistic perception. ONLY 3% of our worries are actually real!

As a result, people spend up to 70% of their life in survival and stress mode always anticipating the worst-case scenario. This directly conditions your body, actions, and beliefs, and as a result we use past conditioning in our life to reaffirm our own limitations.

Finally, many studies have now clearly demonstrated the correlation between one’s thoughts and behaviours and one’s regular surroundings. So, take a look around and make sure you have the right environment for you to be able to think and grow.

My friend, it’s time to change all those thoughts and statistics!

It is time to:

  • Hack the system

  • Break your own limiting beliefs

  • Read information that empowers you

  • Realise that only 3% of your worries are real

  • Increase your freewill beyond your mere 5%

  • Focus on positive, constructive, forward-looking thoughts

  • Challenge your acquaintances to create empowering thinking

  • Increase your confidence and thrive mode from 30% to 50% and beyond

My friend, it is time to hack our own mind and unleash the extraordinary potential locked by an outdated programme. Yes, beyond our greatest dreams!

Time is the scarcest resource in the world. It is the only thing in life that you can never get back!

So let’s not wait.

Let’s act now and make the most of it by fast tracking it with the right tools and support.

QUESTION…

“What else could be true?”

  • Is it true?

  • Can you absolutely know that it's true?

  • How do you react, what happens, when you believe that thought?

  • Who would you be without the thought?
