Say "I" !👏

blossom growing

Last week we discussed tools to help us on our journey.

There is a journey, a growth journey. We all live it, we embrace it or it is forced upon us. Our choice. So let’s realise that it is our choice, let’s raise our voice, and let’s say “I”!

Spring is a magical moment, isn’t it? Nature bursting with life all around us! Colour, smell, butterflies, the change in the air, t-shirts and sunglasses started appearing. A sort of magical rebirth.

Over the last year, all kinds of traditional social venues have been shut: pubs, bars or nightclubs. Instead, new types of outdoor fun have emerged: park walks, park chats and park sitting (spot the common theme?). At least that is what’s happened in the UK where parks are the norm. Some lucky people in Australia or Spain might replace the word ‘park’ with ‘beach’.

Actually, I think we have been lucky to be forced to pause our busy social lives for a moment. Take this opportunity to look around us as spring emerges. Life is springing up again under our feet!

Every day for my morning run I pass this plane tree. Huge and majestic. Strong at the base and reaching to the sky. Made of strong wood and bark. In early May I could not see a single leaf or bud on it. None. I could however already observe many other trees around it bursting with life.

Then, I changed my route and I didn’t see it for a few weeks. When I came back it had transformed. Suddenly, in the space of two weeks leaves and life appeared all over it! Out of nowhere! Looking closer I saw very fragile buds coming out of the tough bark on the trunk. How can something that soft and gentle be there? Cracking through that rock hard trunk?

I was mystified and smiling at the same time.

Growth my friend! Growth is in nature as it is in us. It is nowhere to be seen but then explodes in a symphony of colours and smells. Growth is soft but can go through the hardest bark with the will or need to!

Today I want share a couple pieces of wisdom from Tony Robbins, someone whom I hold dear as he helped me grow a lot and has connected me to amazing souls on this planet.

First, Tony’s triad is made of three core elements: physiology, focus and language.

1. Physiology

Physiology refers to your body and all its systems, and by extension, elements that directly impact those systems. Physiology dictates our feelings. If you want to master your feelings, you must be aware of how your feelings and your body are interconnected. The next time you find yourself in a bad mood, stand up and breathe deeply. You will reset your mind and mood.

2. Focus

As I shared previously with you: “Where focus goes, energy flows.” Focus on the things you want and are working towards, instead of the things that are holding you back. Focusing on the positives is one of the most essential steps towards achieving your peak state.

3. Language

You speak to yourself internally and aloud. How you talk to yourself determines how you operate in the world. Reality only exists in our mind and one’s reality is a personal representation of external stimuli in one’s mind. So, changing how you describe the world will change its representation and effect on us! Explaining that you feel “abundant”, “zesty”, “smothered” or “retrained” will offer a panel of colours that will enable you to open your mind further than the “good” and “bad” widely used. How you use language determines what emotions you feel, so choose wise words when you speak to yourself.

This triad alone is SO powerful that it will set you on a different course of action. But, as spring makes me feel blissful, vibrant, and smiley, today let me top this up with Tony Robbins’s 10 rules for success:

  1. Raise your standards.

  2. Be truly fulfilled

  3. Progress means happiness

  4. Love your customers

  5. Add value

  6. Have an exit strategy

  7. Be resourceful

  8. Pay attention to the little things.

  9. Look for leverage

  10. Change your mindset

We won’t go into more detail here as we would need a proper workshop but we will unpack a couple of those topics in the future. Yet, it’s enough to get you going or at least a nice reminder. Over to you to dig further.

QUESTION…

What is the latest Massive Action you have taken and what has been its impact?
