Summer read 1 đź“–

Pina colada | High performance | Habits

Last week, I shared some thoughts on self-care. This week, I will share a book for your summer break.

Actually, over the next couple of weeks, I will share several books that are masterpieces in their own right starting this week by High Performance Habits (2017) by Brendon Burchard.

After sharing numerous letters and books every week for over 18 months, it dawned on me that I hadn’t shared some of the masterpieces that have really helped me in my journey. They each had a significant personal impact on me, and while they might not help you in the same way as they did for me, I felt compelled to share them with you.

Indeed, as many of us gear up to take a well-deserved break during the summer, it might be a good time to share those books if you want to read them on the beach. Personally, whilst disconnecting the laptop, holidays are a time that I try to put to good use by doing and reading things I wouldn’t have the time to otherwise.

On holiday, you might be more of a novel or fiction type of person and that is great, but maybe some time to focus on learning through non-fiction could work well too. As we keep learning and growing, the summer holiday is actually a perfect time to regain physical and mental energy, and maybe question ourselves in ways we don’t when we grind relentlessly in our daily race.

But before going further, what book do you like to read summer time?

The books that I will share with you in the coming weeks changed me, so hopefully, you will gain something out of them too. Christmas in the summer, no false promises.

Talking about grinding relentlessly, are you a hard worker whose efforts still don’t set you above the crowd? And, despite aiming for the stars, do you still tend to get caught up in answering emails and checking off tedious to-dos? Then, you’re probably like most people: an average performer, stuck in the hamster wheel of life.

Luckily, today’s book demonstrates why this needn’t be the case forever. In fact, a new body of research shows that the highest performing people in this world aren’t born with an extraordinary ability to achieve, and neither does their success stem from some specific kind of personality.

Instead, the key to long-term success lies in certain habits – and with the help of just six of them, identified through research on high performance, you’ll be well on your way to extraordinary achievements.

Seeking clarity, generating energy, raising necessity, increasing productivity, developing influence, and demonstrating courage will help you perform your way to the stars.

Question:

In whatever you do or try to achieve, how clear is your intent?
