Web 3.0 | Blockchain | Education

Last week, we talked about how to break the walls of our prison. This week, I want to support you in gaining more freedom, albeit virtually, and give you the opportunity to attend a great educational event on the 2nd and 3rd of December.

This newsletter aims to challenge your personal status quo and your thinking about self and what surrounds you, supporting you personally, professionally, or financially.

Today, I would like to share my thought on the rise of web 3.0, a very visible trend that many still question or don’t understand, and in doing so, suggest a FREE summit on the topic. Come join the fun!

Maybe it is the first time you’ve heard “Web 3.0”. It is a total decentralisation of property and ownership. You will hear this term more and more as a true earthquake is happening under our feet, creating a massive opportunity for EVERYONE!

For once, it is not those with power and money who control what is happening. Everyone can have access to this opportunity. Many of those currently in power actually fear what is to come, and rightly so.

I realise though that it is not well-understood by many. 

A couple of weeks ago, I had an enlightening conversation with a friend. First, he didn’t really understand blockchain technology and thought that to buy Bitcoin you had to buy one “in full”. This is not the case, and luckily at $60K and rising, as you can buy as little as you want as crypto tends to be easily divided. But then the conversation took an unexpected turn as he grew massively negative as he could only see the monetary aspect, “trading”, “fast money making”, “capitalist” at play. 

While he is probably not alone in feeling the same, this totally misses the point.

Crypto, tokens, NFTs, Bitcoin…those are words that have been widely used of late and that have one thing in common: blockchain. This is the true fundamental revolution that is impacting art, finance and transactions, intermediaries offering verification and security, and much more.

Today, we are only at the dawn of what this technology will enable us to do. Today, one of the most visible forms is Bitcoin, but it has already taken many different forms. Tomorrow, you will be able to engage directly with your favourite artist who, except for the very famous like Ed Sheeran or Adele, are likely to struggle to make a decent living. Tomorrow, the children (and grandchildren, and grand grand etc ) of a content producer (painter, singer etc) will still get a cut from a piece of art resold a 2nd, 3rd or 4th time. Decentralised benefits with no middle man. Welcome to Web 3.0! 

Why has Facebook rebranded its name to Meta (short for Metaverse)? Because this is where they see the future, and FB (or Meta I should say) knows a thing or two about future trends. Metaverse (or a parallel digital reality) is going to be BIG my friends! And blockchain is at its core!

I could get on, but that is not the point of this letter. I just want to bring it to your attention for you to do your own research, read or listen about it.

This has lately become an interest of mine and I have been blessed that Finimize has selected me, along with a few others, to become a host in their Discord Community. Exciting times.

I am no evangelist here or don’t have a crystal ball. I can’t see what the future will be like. I am not asking you to have the same opinion as mine, I just hope that you’re open and interested in becoming informed about what’s happening around you as it’s easy to get distracted when life is so busy.
